Wealthy foreigners are eligible for permanent residence PR status in Singapore via two investment programs: the Global Investor Programme or GIP and the Financial Investor Scheme or FIS. Effective January, qualified applicants with the required entrepreneurial and business or senior management experience may choose between two GIP investment choices. Invest a minimum of S$2.5 million at a start-up business or expansion of an existing Singapore business. This investment must be approved prior to the investment a Singapore incorporated base or with a Singapore incorporated venture capital fund or another trust.
